College Station Congregation Update: 12/19/17

An update from College Station pastor Ben Hailey:

Where we are:

  • At least 100 people attended our Nov. 18 tailgate party at Central Park! This event was an outreach and many of our people invited friends from outside the church.
  • Our group is continuing to get to know each other through both our Sunday School class and our Sunday night gathering times.
  • We plan and pursue vision with a dedicated Advisory Team and a Session Commission.
  • We are actively pursuing names of people we receive who are interested. Please give Ben names of people that he can contact!
  • We have about 20 committed family units.
  • Our December 3 Lessons and Carols service was very encouraging.
  • On December 17, our Advisory Team attended Grace and Peace Presbyterian in Austin to observe worship logistics, children’s ministry, and assimilation practices.

Where we’re going:

  • Weekly evening gatherings will begin January 7, consisting of teaching time and team time.
  • January 28 – First “preview” worship service.
  • February 11 – Second “preview”  worship service.
  • February 25 – Worship Launch
  • We continue to meet as a congregation during the Sunday School hour at WPC Bryan, focusing on worship elements and church culture discussions.
  • We are continuing to raise support.

Prayer Requests:

  • DETAILS. There are a lot of details. There are a lot of things that needs to be executed for Launch, and a lot of things we want to do. Pray that we can organize everything and do what we need to do.
  • Pray for our group to be energized by the needs of College Station and be refreshed by one another.
  • Pray that the Lord would give us wisdom and that most of all He would be glorified in everything we do.
