Meet Greg Williamson, our nominee for elder.
I accepted Christ as Lord and Savior when in the fourth grade and am grateful that God has continued to sanctify me for His purposes throughout my life.
I met my wife Cindy at a terrible church “50’s Party” in Dallas and we soon became inseparable. We were married in 1982 and were blessed with three beautiful daughters: Rebecca, Sarah and Katharine. Cindy and “the girls” exhibited great patience as my employing companies were bought and sold and relocated. During our nearly 42 years of marriage, we lived in Texas (3X), Missouri (2X), Nebraska and Arkansas; but Texas is home. Cindy and I retired to Bryan in 2021, motivated to be near daughters Sarah and Kat, and Kat’s husband Creighton and their son Jack in Austin; and Becca, her husband Matt and three children Levi, Wyatt and Alice in Houston.
While in Dallas, Cindy and I served in a newly planted Bible Church in North Dallas, then after being
relocated to St. Louis, we were blessed to serve during the early planting stages of Twin Oaks
Presbyterian (PCA) church in West St. Louis County. That was an exciting time with rapid church growth, in part from God’s blessings on our Evangelism Explosion ministry. In 1994, multiple Twin Oaks families were relocated with SBC Corporation to San Antonio and worked with Mission to North America to plant a new PCA church in Northwest San Antonio. That new congregation never took root, and after two years, our family was actively involved with an Evangelical Free church, where Cindy and I served in teaching, and where I served as an Elder. For the nine years before retiring to Bryan College Station, Cindy and I served with Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Little Rock, AR.
God has blessed me to serve well especially in the discipleship and teaching of young growing Christians, and those struggling with personal and faith issues. I have a passion for those who may get lost in church structure and may not have the social skills to find a place in the church family.
